We are off to Bali on Wednesday – so some great tips on what to see whilst we are there. Always good to have the name of a driver that is recommended by another traveller too.

Totally agree! Glad you enjoyed my article!
I didn’t get a chance to revisit this page for awhile but was happily surprised to see all the positive responses on my guest post. Glad everyone enjoyed it!
Bali was actually the first place I actually went out to hire a driver and had such a positive experience that I hope to do it again on upcoming trips. Putu was simply amazing and the ability to have some custom tailored and at our own schedule was unbeatable.
Bali was truly an enchanting place like some of you have said! I really didn’t have too high expectations going in because everyone made it out to be this tourist-trap type place but once you get out there and see all the different places this (larger-than-I-thought) island has to offer, you truly appreciate the beauty of it all!
Thanks for sharing, I hope to visit Bali in June next year and found this article very useful.
Great post! Love the pictures William, especially the one of the rice paddies in the storm, great contrast!
We are just starting to shed our obsessively independent tendencies and began hiring personal guides and the rewards can be amazing. (but sometimes the guides talk too much!)
Bali is an enchanting part of Indonesia, our favourite was probably Sumatra. Great trip! Enjoy.
That’s true, Sometimes they can talk too much. I think it is because they feel that they have to. We’ve hired guides and set the ground rules early. We’ve told them that we like to have time on our own and don’t need them to hold our hand to go through everything and they have almost felt relieved that they can sit back a bit. Communication is key to having an amazing experience.
Bali was a wonderful place, said by my friend who went there. I also want to explore Bali myself and prove to myself that my friend was right. Hope you had a wonderful trip, Will. Asian countries are really a must to explore around.
Great trip and photos! We hide a guide or ask for local help too, as much as possible, as it is super helpful and often more informative than any guide book 🙂 Cheers and safe trips to you!
Bali, is one of the countries that I’ve visited that I really, really like because the cost of living their is cheaper and the local people are kind.
Great photos 🙂
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to guest write for you guys. It was a pleasure 🙂
Thanks for sharing your experience in Bali. It’s such a great island to visit and to be able to experience it with a local guide is the way to go. That is exactly how we explored Bali too. We hired a guide/driver for a few days and really got the local experience
You guys did enjoy with the help of local guide. Great pictures too.
Amazing- Bali is at the top of the list of future vacation destinations…
We agree that it should be. Bali is an amazing destination.
